At least 27 families have received hog raising projects and 12 others for Sari Sari Stores after SR Metals, Inc. (SRMI), a mining firm in Tubay, Agusan del Norte implemented its Family and Agro Enterprise Development program to Tubaynons on Wednesday (July 11).
The said beneficiaries were carefully assessed by the firm and have been proven qualified to receive the said livelihood assistance projects.
“We conducted several methods like community immersion, surveys and other tools in order to really identify the poorest among the poor,” Jinky Jovita, RSW, SRMI-Community Development Officer said in an interview.
Jovita added that the said implementations will be regularly monitored to ensure sustainability as this is its core objective in its livelihood programs.
“Mapasalamaton gyud kaayo mi sa SRMI (We are really grateful to SRMI),” Lorna Lincuna said after the turning over sets of groceries to be displayed at her long been built Sari Sari Store.
SRMI then reminded the beneficiaries to take good care of the projects to realize the ultimate goal of the company to uplift economic living conditions of the communities where it operates in.
Despite the economic constraints of the company after it went through a temporary operation suspension, it vowed to continuously implement the community development programs in its Social Development and Management Program as mandated by the existing laws. By JD
