Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal number 1 was raised early Thursday over Surigao del Sur and eastern portion of Agusan del Sur due to Tropical Depression Crising 420 kilometers east of Davao City, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
In its 5 a.m. weather bulletin, the state weather bureau said Crising was moving westward or west northwestward with maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 55 kph.
Pagasa said the tropical depression will bring moderate to heavy rainfall over Surigao del Sur and the eastern portion of Agusan del Sur (Prosperidad, San Francisco, Rosario, Bunawan, Trento, Santa Josefa, Veruela) between Thursday and Friday morning,
Subesequently, Pagasa predicted that Crising is likely to make landfall over Surigao del Sur or Davao Oriental between Thursday night and early Friday. CLC
