Caraga police say authorities have arrested nine wanted persons, including a man who is allegedly the No. 1 most wanted person in Sibagat town, Agusan del Sur province over the weekend.
The regional police chief, Rolando B. Felix, said the arrests were a result of a series of manhunt operations in line with the aggressive campaign of the Caraga cops to arrest wanted persons.
“This operation shows the effectiveness of the public’s cooperation in fighting criminality and their active participation hastened the putting of criminals behind bars and giving justice to the victims of crimes,” Felix said.
Among those arrested is Emelita Obor from Barangay New Tubigon, Sibagat, Agusan del Sur, who was wanted for two counts of violation of Republic Act 7610 (An Act Providing for Stronger Deterrence and Special Protection against Child Abuse).
The suspect is alleged No. 1 most wanted person in Sibagat town.
The other wanted persons were arrested on Saturday and Sunday for various crimes committed at various parts in the region.
“These wanted persons were arrested by virtue of warrants of arrest issued by different courts in the region,” Felix said.
The police official added, legal procedures and documentation are already prepared before turning them over to the courts. By CLC
