Looking for a durable, authentic and miniature art pieces as Christmas gift items that last a lifetime? A young Butuan-based artist-entrepreneur, Kit Gresos has come up with original creations that reflect homegrown interpretation of the holiday season and beyond.
If you collect refrigerator magnets from all other cities and countries-which most people love to do nowadays -then you have one or three addition that is truly Butuanon worth posted in every fridge in the world.
“I would certainly get four to bring in Manila and give the rest to friends,” exclaims Jims Abanero, a Butuanon visiting.
There’s also a charming table Santa Claus with a Manobo-inspired headgear with a warm smile. In totality, you own a lasting Mindanaoan-inspired art work.
Gresos runs and manages the small gallery located at the ground floor of NB Building, Ochoa Avenue in Butuan City. He has built a name for exclusive, made-to-order sculptures like trophies, festival and wedding souvenir pieces. His clients include public and private institutions and individuals based in the city, the region and abroad.
On the first week of December, he has an exhibit at the Robinson’s with other acclaimed Mindanao artists Anoy Catague and Bada Torralba. This is certainly an explosive show to watch.
