NEWSPIX: Slain Bislig broadcaster laid to rest

Christopher Lozada, 29, the fifth journalist slain in Surigao del Sur since 2009, was finally laid to rest before noon Wednesday (Nov.1)

Mourners, mostly wearing white t-shirts with words “Justice for Christopher Rapido Lozada”, joined the motorcade from his residence to Barangay Coleto Cemetery in Bislig City for his funeral.

Amid the crying and silent indignation, Lozada’s family and friends strive to keep their hopes afloat that they would soon obtain justice for his untimely death.

Lozada, anchorman and general manager of PBN 101.7 FM, and his girlfriend, Honey Faith Indog, were on board a gray color Toyota Vios on their way home when armed men aboard a van pulled over and shot them in Bislig City on October 25. Photos courtesy of Lance Kendrick
