Marcventures supported the Department of Education’s (DepEd) 2021 Brigada Eskwela Program in Cantilan, Surigao del Sur.
As face-to-face classes remain suspended because of the pandemic, the program focused on implementing the Basic Education Learning Continuity Planand to ensure the delivery of quality basic education. The slogan “Bayanihan Para sa Paaralan” emphasizes the collective efforts in promoting collaboration for safe living and addressing social issues and concerns in schools, at homes and in the community.
DepEd explained that the traditional concept of Brigada Eskwela, which involves the cleaning, painting, and minor repairs of schools, will still not happen this year.
For schools that are utilized for the preparation of learning packets, which includes the pick- up and submission of learning materials by the parents, physical cleaning and disinfection were allowed according to the prevailing local risk classification and community quarantine guidelines.
Marcventures Mining and Development Corporation (MMDC) supported the initiatives of Cantillan Pilot School in implementing the program which includes the preparation of modules and donation of school supplies.
