A total of 7,859 persons under monitoring (PUM), or those with no symptoms, had hurdled their 14-day quarantine and were cleared of possible infection of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), the Department of Health in Caraga announced on Friday.
In a public advisory issued at 6:30 p.m., the DOH-13 reported that out of the 7,982 PUMs spread out in the five provinces and six cities in the region, 7,859 were already cleared since the virus broke out in the country early January.
The PUM were issued medical certificates by their respective city or municipal officers or rural health physicians.
As of Friday, at least 123 more PUM were still under home quarantine and close observation.
The DOH-13 also revealed that a new patient under investigation (PUI) was recorded in Caraga as of April 3.
This brings the number of PUI in the region to 10 .
The health agency stressed the region remained free of the dreaded disease. CLC
