The number of patients who have recovered from COVID-19 in Caraga has climbed to 44,402, as 205 more residents were cleared of the viral disease, data from the Department of Health (DOH) regional office on Sunday showed.
It reflected a 93-percent recovery rate, the region’s highest since the pandemic began last year.
The region’s active infections stood at 1,623 as 58 new cases were added to its data.
With these new cases, the number of known COVID-19 infections in Caraga reached 47,722 since last year
But three more patients have succumbed to the deadly respiratory disease, raising the death toll to 1,697 as of Sunday, DOH Caraga data showed.
The DOH urged residents to get vaccinated and asked them to be more vigilant and more conscious in observing health protocols as the Covid-19 and its variants continue to pose threat in the region. CLC
