Caraga’s COVID-19 cases breach 4,000 mark

Cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Caraga region has breached the 4,000-mark after it registered 43 new infections on Wednesday (Dec.9).

The Department of Health in Caraga said the region now has 4,004 COVID-19 cases, with 3,391 recoveries.

Of the new cases, 26 are from the province of Agusan del Sur, followed by Butuan City with five cases; Tandag City with four cases; Surigao del Sur with three cases ; Dinagat Islands with two cases ;Surigao del Norte with two cases ;and Surigao City with one.

Meanwhile, more than 180 COVID-19 patients have died of the disease as the DOH Caraga recorded four new deaths, raising the death toll to 188.

The four latest deaths involved an 11-year-old girl from Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur; a 75-year-old woman from Talacogon, Agusan del Sur; a 67-year-old woman from Trento, Agusan del Sur; and a 76-year-old woman from Butuan City. CLC
