The Caraga Regional Hospital (CRH) in Surigao City, one of the region’s COVID-19 referral hospitals, announced on Friday that it has reached full bed capacity for coronavirus disease patients and experienced medical oxygen supply shortage due to the climbing number of infections.

“Please be informed that the Caraga Regional Hospital has already reached beyond its full capacity for COVID-19 dedicated beds. And due to the high oxygen demand of our patients,we are also experiencing shortage of oxygen supplies,” an advisory from the hospital said.

The hospital, however, said it was exerting all efforts to address the situation.

As of October 1, Caraga has recorded a total of 43,993 cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic started last year. Of this number, 36,230 are recoveries and 1,434 are deaths.

The region still has 6,329 active cases. CLC
