Anti-narcotics operatives arrested nine suspected drug pushers in massive police operations on Friday, the Caraga Police Office said.
Chief Supt. Noli A. Romana, Caraga police director, said the operations in Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Sur, Agusan del Norte and cities of Surigao and Butuan seized 85 grams of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth) with a street value of P 648,000.
In Cabadbaran, police arrested Wowie Melecio following a buy-bust operation, which yielded some 250 grams of shabu valued at P1.5 million
In Kitcharao, Agusan del Norte, a suspected drug pusher was arrested after he sold a sachet of shabu to an undercover police acting as buyer.
In Agusan del Sur, policemen collared suspected drug pushers Jamal Tingcalong, of Trento; Jonathan Canja, and Ariel Balume, of San Francisco; and Jerry Galo, of Esperanza.
In Surigao del Sur, policemen armed with a search warrant, also arrested Jhon Lou Bulao after the raiders found shabu and drug paraphernalia inside his house in Barangay Poblacion,Lingig.
In Butuan and Surigao cities, two were arrested in two different buy-bust operations.
The arrested drug suspects will be charged for violation of R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Romana said their continuous operations are targeting the army of peddlers of illegal drugs in the communities based on information provided by drug surrenderees, rehabilitated drug users and police tipsters.
“There is no slowing down in our drive against illegal drugs and we urge the people to help the PNP Caraga and PDEA13 in making our region drug-free,” he said. By CLC
