Caraga saw a drastic drop in its active COVID-19 cases on Sunday (Nov.7) as more patients recovered from the viral disease, data from the Department of Health (DOH) regional office showed.
According to DOH Caraga,132 new recoveries and only 43 new infections were recorded that day.
The figures brought down to 646 the region’s active cases, which reached 700 plus cases the previous day.
On Oct. 30, the region’s active infections began to fall below the 1,000-mark and were observed to be on a downward trend in the succeeding days.
So far, Caraga has maintained a 94-percent recovery rate despite registering 48,397 infections since last year.
DOH Caraga also recorded on Sunday additional nine deaths due to COVID-19 complications, which raised the current death count to 1,772.
A total of 1,125,330 residents in the region have been vaccinated against COVID-19 as of November 7.
The DOH Caraga reported that 568,128 residents are fully vaccinated and 557,202 others have received the first vaccine dose. CLC
