Nine persons were arrested in separate anti-illegal drug operations conducted by the members of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA-Caraga) on Monday in Surigao City.
The operations resulted in the confiscation of methamphetamine or shabu with combined value of P32,450.00, PDEA-Caraga spokesperson Dindo de G. Abellanosa said.
Among those arrested during the series of sting operations were Grace Jumandos Montesa, Jiev-Boy Lopis and Chandery Lopez Resare, a resident of Barangay Luna.
Also arrested by the PDEA were Edmar Yangco Granado, Jerry Gromontil Quizada, Nhelrose Amoroso Mancioso, Wella Rica Arellano, Androll Galido Layos and Zosima Jumandos Montesa.
All the suspects are now detained at the Surigao City lock-up cell while cases for selling and possession of illegal drugs were filed against them.
In Butuan City, anti-illegal drug operatives, in coordination with PDEA arrested a former policeman and his , his companion who is subject of the search warrant doing pot session with two female teeners in Barangay Camayahan on Monday.
Chief Insp. Ephraim Detuya, station commander of the Butuan City Police Station- 4, said his men implementing search warrant issued by local court arrested P02 Avensuel Dy, and Roger Pilobes , who is occupant of the house and subject of the search warrant.
Dy and Pilobes were caught doing alleged pot session with the two female minors.
Seized from the nabbed suspects were illegal drugs shabu worth P6,183.00 and assorted drug paraphernalia.
