Three mild tremors shook Surigao del Sur Wednesday but caused no damage, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology (Phivolcs) said.
The last and strongest quake which measured magnitude 3.7 struck at 6:33 p.m. at 27 kilometers southeast of Cagwait town, at depth of 24 kilometers.
Two hours earlier, at least two other smaller quakes that measured from magnitude to 2.4.2 to 2.6 7 were recorded in the area.
At 4.25 p.m., Cortes town was rattled by a 2.4-magnitude quake. It occurred 61 kilometers northeast of Cortes at a depth of 32 kilometers.
At 4:36 p.m., a magnitude 2.6 earthquake shook nearby Hinatuan town . It occurred 72 kilometers northeast of Hinatuan at a depth of 18 kilometers.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injury from the tremors, which were all tectonic in origin and no tsunami alert was raised by the agency. By CLC
