22 more Caraga residents succumb to COVID-19

At least 22 patients in Caraga region succumbed to COVID-19, even as its active cases rose to 6,786 on Thursday, Sept. 23.

According to the Department of Health (DOH) regional office, the new deaths raised to 1,323 the total number of people who died of COVID-19 in Caraga.

DOH reported that on Thursday, Caraga also recorded 645 new cases, pushing the total tally to 40,793 cases since the pandemic began last year.

At least 571 new recoveries were also reported on the same day, bringing the total recoveries to 32,684. 

As of Thursday, there were 6,786 active cases in the region.

The DOH urged residents to get vaccinated and asked them to be more vigilant and more conscious in observing health protocols as the Covid-19 and its variants continue to pose threat in the region. 

To date, the region has administered 747,332 doses, of which 373,968 priority individuals got their first dose, while 373,364 had their second dose. CLC
