Two New People’s Army militiamen facing murder charges were arrested in Agusan del Sur province on Monday afternoon, the police said in a report.
Chief Insp. Renel Serrano, spokesperson for the Caraga police office, said joint police and military team arrested Crisanto Mondejar, 63 and his son, 25-year-old Blim by virtue of a warrant in Barangay San Patricio in La Paz town.
Serrano said the father and son are “Militia ng Bayan” of the New People’s Army in the province.
NPA militiamen are like the military’s civilian militia and are different from the NPA’s regular armed fighters.
The two, who are facing murder charges at a local court in Prosperidad, were brought to Caraga Regional Police Office. By GD
