Some parts of Surigao City and Surigao del Norte will experience power outages on Saturday (tomorrow), with the blackout lasting for about twelve hours, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) said in an advisory.
The NGCP said that the power outages will be implemented due to preventive maintenance schedule of its high-voltage equipment, associated protection system and replacement of critical insulators on various structures in said areas.
The following areas will be affected by the power interruption scheduled from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m: the 54 barangays, in both inland and islands of Surigao City and the towns of San Francisco and Malimono in Surigao del Norte province.
“The reason of the power outage is the repair of structures along Placer-Surigao 69 KV line,” NGCP Regional Corporate Communication and Public Affairs officer Glory Rebleza said.
Rebleza said NGCP will exert all efforts to restore power earlier or as scheduled and asked power consumers to understand the situation and exert some adjustments.
“NGCP will exert all efforts to restore power earlier or as scheduled,” she added. By CLC
