11 Caraga cops dismissed from service

The internal cleansing of the police force in Caraga continues.

At least 11 policemen were dismissed from service by the Police Regional Office in Caraga (PRO-13) from January 1 to October 13, 2020 after being linked to various administrative cases.

On the other hand, a total of 17 cops were suspended while another was demoted also for administrative cases during the same period, Caraga police director Brig. Gen. Romeo Caramat Jr., said.

Of those dismissed from service, three were police commissioned officers, six were police non-commissioned officers while two were non-uniformed personnel.

Caraga’s highest-ranking police said this would serve as a warning to other policemen in the region to always do their job correctly and stay away from illegal activities.

Caramat has vowed that the Caraga police force will be cleansed of rogue police officers.

“Rest assured that PNP Caraga will continue its relentless campaign against PNP scalawags to earn the trust and confidence of the people whom we have sworn to serve and protect,” he said. CLC
