Ten more deaths related to COVID-19 were recorded in Caraga on Tuesday, despite the steady decline of new infections in the region.

In a bulletin released Wednesday, the Department of Health (DOH) in Caraga said the 10 deaths brought the total number of fatalities to 1,733.

Data also showed that 50 patients have recovered from the viral disease, which further brought down the region’s active cases to 922.

The newly healed patients brought the total recovery count in the region to 45,466, according to the DOH’s COVID-19 tracker.

The figure reflected a 94.4-percent recovery rate in the region that has already logged 48,121 COVID-19 cases since last year.

At least 43 new infections were also added to the region’s COVID-19 tally on the same day.

It was the second consecutive week that the region logged more recoveries than new infections, according to DOH Caraga data.

A total of 1,090,562 residents in the region have been vaccinated against COVID-19 as of November 1.

The DOH Caraga reported that 538,401 residents are fully vaccinated and 552,161 others have received the first vaccine dose. CLC
