Likha Karaga (LK), Butuan and Caraga Region’s association of veteran painters and art students started its outdoor and exchange program at Zoila’s Farm in Barangay Taligaman, Butuan City over the weekend.
Headed by painter and public school teacher Gualberto Licong with fellow painters and teachers Alwin Musa, Roland Delara and Chito Alegre, the group from now will conduct regular outdoor art sessions and interactions to strengthen even more the bond and help elevate the quality of art and artists as a sector.
“This will pave the way to the group’s concrete direction and inspire the young ones for a more active role and pursue their interest in visual art,” informs Licong, an award-winning painter and coach.
Ramon Jorge Sarabosing, the writer and painter who hosted the event at Zoila’s, says an activity like this affirms the creative spirit of the artists and deepen their involvement as responsible artists of the people and environment.
Next art camp is a two-day outreach interaction-workshop with the youth of San Agustin town in Surigao del Sur. The event is organized by Alegre, who is a native resident of San Agustin himself.
