Some bad news for true-blue volleyball fanatics.

The much-anticipated UAAP women’s volleyball exhibition game between the UP Lady Maroons and FEU Lady Tamaraws this Saturday (May 27) at the Father Saturnino Urios University gym has been scrapped following the declaration of martial law in Mindanao.

UP Women’s Volleyball Varsity Team said in a statement that in the wake of what is happening in Marawi City “the management and coaching staff of UPWVT would like to announce our unanimous decision not to pursue our planned trip to Butuan City.”

“We are saddened by the crisis and together with the Filipino people we join them in prayer for the safety of our brothers and sisters in Marawi, ” the team said.

The team added: To the organizers of the event and our supporters, we would like to express our sincerest apology. The safety of our players and staff is our utmost priority. We will, gladly, consider going to Butuan once peace and order has already been restored. Thank you for your understanding. By CLC
