With the relaunch of “Oplan Tokhang,” the Caraga Regional Police Office said it has arrested at least two drug suspects, including a civil engineer in a drug buy-bust operation yesterday (Wednesday ) in Surigao City in Surigao del Norte province.
Caraga police director Chief Supt. Noli Romana said Engr. Constantine Garrido, 31, and Jimmy Bongat, 33 were arrested in an anti-drug operation inside a lodging house in Barangay Taft, Surigao City on Wednesday afternoon.
“A drug-free Caraga has always been our goal. That is why our police force and the PDEA are doing their best to run after those involved in illegal drug activities,” Romana said .
Romana said 11 sachets of suspected shabu worth P11, 800 and marked money were recovered from the suspects after they were caught transacting with an undercover agent.
Garrido, a resident of Barangay Ferdinand in Basilisa town in Dinagat Islands province, and an employee of the Provincial Engineering Office, was named on the local PDEA drug watchlist.
Drug cases will be filed against Garrido and his companion. By GD
