Eight Surigao del Sur towns and the city of Tandag, the provincial capital will be experiencing a 12-hour power loss on Saturday, May 23 due to maintenance activities, the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) said.
The power service interruption will take effect starting 6 a.m. up to 6 p.m. and will affect areas served by the Surigao del Sur Electric Cooperative (Surseco) II, according to Zaldy Paduganan, NGCP regional district head.
Surseco II coverage areas affected are Tandag City and the towns of Lianga, San Agustin, Marihatag,Cagwait, Bayabas, San Miguel, Tago and Cortes.
Paduganan said the maintenance activity involved replacement of rotten or dilapidated structures, as well as the line maintenance of the Tandag–San Francisco 69kV line.
“All switching activities maybe finished ahead of time and power maybe restored earlier than scheduled, so please consider our lines always energized,” he said. CLC
