The suspected gunman in the 2018 murder of Felisberto Dumadag III, councilor of Tubod town in Surigao del Norte province, was arrested by authorities in Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte on Wednesday afternoon.
Roberto Salamanca, 41,was arrested in a joint operation of the Surigao del Norte Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), Cabadbaran City Police Station and the Surigao Del Norte provincial police at around 2:00 p.m. in Baragangay 7 in Cabadbaran City on April 3.
According to a report from the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO-13) CIDG, Salamanca did not resist arrest as police served the arrest warrant at his residence.
The warrant for the crime of murder was issued by Judge Leonila Gorgolon of the Regional Trial Court Branch 30 in Surigao City, in March 2019.
Dumadag, who was serving his second term as town councilor, was shot and killed by two men on board a motorcycle while standing at a waiting shed in Barangay Poblacion on Dec. 12, 2018.
