Four mild tremors shook the provinces of Surigao del Norte and Dinagat Islands on Friday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
In Dinagat, a magnitude 2.3 quake struck at 2:09 a.m., with the epicenter recorded in Loreto town.
Phivolcs instruments also recorded a magnitude 2.5 quake at 3:40 a.m. in Surigao del Norte with the epicenter in Dapa, Siargao Island.
At 5:21 a.m., a magnitude 2.3 earthquake shook nearby Santa Monica town. It occurred 17 kilometers northwest of Santa Monica at a depth of 22 kilometers.
Earlier, at 5:01 a.m., Surigao City was rattled by a 2.4-magnitude quake. It occurred 5 kilometers from the city proper of Surigao. The tremor had a depth of 30 km, the state agency said.
There were no immediate reports of damage or injury from the tremors, which were all tectonic in origin and no tsunami alert was raised by the agency. By CLC
