Seven people wanted for various crimes were arrested in separate manhunt operations by the police in Butuan City.
Col. Canilo Fuentes, Butuan police chief, said Friday the arrest of the suspects in a coordinated sweep on Monday (December 23) was a notable accomplishment for the police.
Fuentes said the accused were arrested by virtue of warrant of arrests from different courts.
Buutan police identified those arrested as Odysseus Salva, Gilbert Sagay, Rey Anthony Gonzales, Gilbert Payac, Judy Durado, Albert Baguhin and John Dave Cinco.
The wanted criminals were facing charges of rape, multiple attempted murder, attempted homicide, child abuse and carnapping.
Fuentes vowed that the city police’s will intensify its hunt for wanted persons and anti-criminality campaign.
“As much as we want this holiday season to be secured and peaceful, we will relentlessly pursue police operations against those who violate the law,” he said. By CLC
