Former Special Assistant to the President (SAP) and aspiring senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go reminded government officials and supporters to never forget the reason behind their desire to serve in the government.
The former SAP gave this statement last Thursday while attending the Ugnayan sa Barangay event held Amadeo, Cavite. Ugnayan sa Barangay is a series of events organized by the Provincial Government of Cavite to connect government figures and luminaries with communities all over the province.
Bong Go acknowledged that Filipinos deserve honest and sincere service and reminded government officials present in Cavite the sage advice given by President Rodrigo Duterte.
Bong Go also thanked his supporters for backing him in his advocacies. He urged supporters to remember what President Rodrigo Duterte is fighting for: a better Philippines for the next generation.
Go is pushing for measures that aim to protect the youth from the influence of illegal drugs, criminality, and corruption. To prevent the youth from being corrupted by such negative influences, he advocates for improvements in education and long-term sports development to teach the youth discipline and sportsmanship and help them develop into productive citizens of the country.
Bong Go stressed that despite being a private citizen, he still goes around the country to talk about his advocacies and listen to the concerns of ordinary Filipinos.
Go also reminded his supporters to prioritize promoting his advocacies of helping the poor and the needy rather than promoting him as a candidate.
Apart from providing advice and reminders to supporters and government officials, Bong Go told event attendees that a Malasakit Center will soon be opened in Cavite to serve local patients in need of quick medical and financial assistance.
The Malasakit Center, an initiative started by former SAP Bong Go and President Rodrigo Duterte, is a one-stop shop wherein PCSO, DOH, DSWD, PhilHealth, and other relevant government satellite offices are housed in one location to ease the process for patients in need of fast medical and financial assistance.
Go intends to put the Malasakit Center program into legislation so that each province and urban center can have its own center to cater to the medical and financial needs of locals in that area.
A senatorial candidate in the 2019 midterm elections, Bong Go has a legislative agenda which covers topics such as agriculture, housing, improved health service delivery, education, long-term sports development, localized peace talks, anti-drug and crime drive, anti-corruption drive, barangay welfare, creation of a Department of OFWs, as well as senior citizen concerns.
Bong Go guaranteed Amadeo residents and Cavite government officials that he and President Duterte are there to help them.
