NEWSPIX: Siargao’s Sugba Lagoon to be closed for 30 days, starting today

The municipal government of Del Carmen town in Surigao del Norte has approved a 30-day closure of Sugba Lagoon for maintenance and rehabilitation works.

Closure to tourists is expected from January 10. With its limestone cliffs, foliage, mangroves, trees and clear aquamarine waters, Sugba Lagoon has become a must-visit for every tourist on Siargao Island.

The natural beauty of the lagoon, which lies in the island village of Caub, a 30-minute boat ride from the port of the town equals that of El Nido and Coron in Palawan. To get here, one has to take cruise through a vast expanse of mangroves. By CLC Photo courtesy of TechnoMarine Ph
