The 12th staging of the prestigious Siargao International Game Fishing Tournament is all set next week.
The five-day sea sporting event in the Pacific Ocean-facing town of Pilar, which will open April 11 and will end April 15, is expected to draw the world’s top anglers from Europe, Russia, United Kingdom, Australia, Taiwan, Japan, Indonesia, and Hong Kong.
Last year’s staging saw over 80 local and international anglers competing for the biggest catch of sailfish, marlin, yellow-fin, tuna, wahaoo and Dorado.
Already considered the surfing capital of the Philippines, Siargao Island is now also the game fishing capital of the country. By CLC Contributed photo
