NEWSPIX: LTO cracks whip on Caraga’s ‘colorum’ public vehicles

Authorities apprehended 26 vans and a bus plying various routes in the region during Tuesday’s anticolorum operation in Butuan City.

The vehicles were brought to the Land Transportation Office impounding area in Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur, where the units would be held until their owners pay the corresponding penalty: P1 million for bus and P200,000 for vans.

The campaign against out-of-line vehicles or those operating without a valid transport franchise was in line with the directive of Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade to implement an administrative order, which imposes fines and penalties for land transport violations.
