Police on Tuesday served two arrest warrants on the former regional director of the National Telecommunications Commission in Caraga (NTC-Caraga) who is facing graft and estafa charges before the Butuan City Regional Trial Court.
The charges against Rudy Valdez stemmed from a complaint filed by businessman Anthony Sanglay involving the sale of a radio transmitter and acquisition of a franchise to operate an FM station sometime in 2014.
Despite the payments and repeated demands, Valdez allegedly failed to deliver the radio transmitter and make good on his promise, Sanglay claimed.
The Office of the Ombudsman in Mindanao, In a decision dated August 2, 2016, ordered the dismissal of Valdez from service , including the forfeiture of retirement benefits “for grave misconduct and dishonesty” over the deal. Contributed photo
