Lieutenant Colonel Allen Tomas has assumed office as the new commanding officer of Philippine Army’s 30th Infantry Battalion in a turnover ceremony on Thursday.
Tomas replaces Lieutenant Colonel Rico Amaro who was named commander of the Fourth Civil-Military Operations (CMO) Battalion in Caraga region based in Butuan City.
The 30th IB which is based in Placer town holds jurisdiction of Surigao del Norte, Dinagat Island and Agusan del Norte areas.
Present during the turnover of command were 401st Infantry Brigade commander Brigadier General Cristobal Zaragoza and local officials.
