NEWSPIX: Agusan Marsh ‘view deck’ to rise soon

A P11.9-million view deck will soon rise at Agusan Marsh in Agusan del Sur to give tourists, both foreign and domestic a much clearer view of wild birds, particularly migratory birds avoiding the cold in their countries of origin.

The Department of Tourism (DOT) regional office said the planned “Panglabuhan Floating Village Adventours/Bird Watching” which will be set up within the municipality of Loreto would highlight the existence of about 200,000 migratory birds from 200 individual bird species through bird watching and photography.

Declared as a Ramsar Wetland Site in 1999, the Agusan Marsh covers the municipalities of San Francisco, Rosario, Bunawan, Veruela, Loreto, Talacogon and La Paz, all in Agusan del Sur. By GD Photo courtesy of  Francis Uy
