NEWSPIX: 46 Caraga towns still without slaughterhouse

To ensure that only safe and quality meat will be distributed in Caraga, the National Meat Inspection Services (NMIS) is planning to establish at least one slaughterhouse per municipality across the region.

Kennedy Sunico, regional technical director of NMIS-Caraga, said forty-six towns in Caraga remain without slaughter house. Of the 73 municipalities and cities of Caraga, only 27 have its own slaughter house.

He called on local government units (LGUs) which still do have their own slaughter house to coordinate with the agency for the necessary procedures and for possible access of government interventions. By GD
