As Butuanons celebrate the weeklong 4th Butuanon Art Festival, mining firm SR Metals, Inc. (SRMI) takes part in promoting, protecting and conserving Caraga’s cultural heritage.

On Friday, SRMI spearheaded a one-hour cultural presentation titled “Mina at Kultura” at the Robinsons Mall in Butuan City, performed by Agusan National High School Dance Troupe, G7 dancers and singer Jake Soriano.

Julious Rey Donque, information, education and communication officer of SRMI said their company, which operates a nickel mine in Tubay, Agusan del Norte reaches out to communities and cause-oriented groups and helps them protect and preserve their cultural heritage.

In fact, he said SRMI has been actively supporting the Kalinawan Festival in Tubay, consistent with the firm’s thrust in preserving local customs, promoting the town’s rich cultural heritage assets and spreading cultural awareness.

“This Arts Festival is committed to making people of Butuan as lively as ever. So, we would like to share our ideals and aspirations to everyone to keep our lives and culture more beautiful and colorful,” Donque said. By JD
