Medu’n Amoyag Caraga Arts Festival: Spotlight on music and paintings

On Saturday and Sunday, November 25 and 26 at Robinsons Butuan, come and witness Caraga’s professional and amateur artists in the field of music and painting unleash their latest creatives pieces to the public in celebration of this year’s Medu’n Amoyag Caraga Arts Festival.

The festival is based and inspired from a Manobo tribe’s expression that means a vibrant life celebrated and lifting up the spirit, heart and soul of the land, the environment. It also highlights the camaraderie and culture of its people.

The festival is organized by Balik-Kultura Caraga, an organization of artists and cultural workers based in Butuan chaired by Robert Andaya with Titing Trinquite as vice-chair. Gualberto Licong, Odette Andaya, Nice Montante and Yul Jimenez are members of the working committee.

The festival will officially start at 10 0’clock in the morning on Saturday with the on-the-spot painting competition at the atrium north area.

The music competition will be at start at 2 0’clock in the afternoon at the south atrium on Sunday. Winners to both competitions will be announced after the bands performances.

Eight music bands from the region will compete with original songs in Bisaya and Pilipino. Fifteen visual artists qualified and will join the painting quest. The public is invited to come.

    Thank you so much for this write up Mr. Sarabosing. To date, we only registered seven (7) bands. Grand Prize of P30,000 for the winning song/band entry and grand prize of P15,000 for the painting contest. Hoping for the best this weekend!
