The office of the Department of Transportation (DOTr-Caraga) on Wednesday announced the overhaul of key officers of various division and district offices of the LTO licensing division and Licensing Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) in the region.
DOTr Caraga director Alexander P. Mama-o said the shake up is part of the agency’s effort to rid corruption while improving its services in line with President Duterte’s good governance agenda.
Among the particular issue the agency wanted to address with the reshuffle was the continued operation of fixers at various LTO districts in the region, Mamao added.
“This is a real change as what President Duterte wanted to implement, we are serious and I warned our key officers and personnel to watch their steps because we will not hesitate to remove them and file administrative and criminal charge if they committed mistake,” Mama-o said.
Affected by the reshuffle, Mamao said were district heads in Surigao City, Cabadbaran City, Tandag City and Butuan City District Agency as well as key divisions of the DOTC 13’s planning, licensing and inspection divisions.
The official also bared the creation of a “Regional Law Enforcer Task Force” (RLETF) to complement the regional chief of operations and District Law Enforcement Task Group in various district offices of the Land Transportation Office (LTO-DLETG) in the five provinces and six cities in Caraga.
Mamao said he already directed officials of RLETF to submit a weekly report on its accomplishments and other programs that will strengthen the transportation laws, rules and regulations. By YUC
