A low pressure area (LPA) was spotted off Butuan City, the state weather bureau said on Thursday.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Service Administration said the LPA was observed 95 kilometers off Butuan City as of 4 a.m.
Weather forecaster Chris Perez, however, said the LPA will not likely intensify into a tropical storm.
For this, the provinces of Dinagat Islands and Surigao del Norte including Siargao Islands, Northern Cebu, Romblon and Quezon can expect cloudy skies with scattered rain. By GD PHOTO/ pagasa.gov.ph
