Butuan Mayor Ronnie Vic Lagnada fired the head of the City’s Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) and replaced some of its members amid alleged irregularities in the bids body.
Eldie David, the city information chief, said Dr. Joyce Hidalgo no longer holds the chairmanship over the BAC, which is tasked to oversee the procurement processes of the city government.
Hidalgo has been replaced by City Budget Officer Armando A. Perez, Sr. He, however, clarified that Hidalgo remains as the medical director of Butuan Medical Center (BMC).
David further said that aside from Hidalgo, other officers were also relieved from their position.
The new BAC members are Josephine G. Cajoles, Engr. Pierre Anthony D. Joven and Lovelynn Mae N. Plaza.
The retained member is Engr. Rogelio L. Batocael of the City Engineering Office.
Lawyer Atty. Maria Jonika Gonzaga-Romano has been named as head of the BAC Secretariat and Engr. Rhoderick F. Lerias as head of the BAC’s Technical Working Group (TWG).
Last week, Lagnada urged Hidalgo and other BAC officials to resign following the discovery of alleged anomalies in the bidding and procurement processes in the city government.
The reorganization, David said was in line with the Lagnada administration’s thrust toward organization-wide ”transformation”, addressing corruption and instituting good governance reforms. By CLC
