Born out of its desire to provide services on education and humanitarian services, the Junior Chamber International Surigao Inc. and Junior Chamber International Surigao Wensie chose the Cantiasay Elementary School in Cantiasay, Surigao City as one of the beneficiaries of its program under the Bags to School Project.
In a turn-over ceremony held recently, pupils received 60 bags and NKT envelops containing school supplies , food packs, rice and nipa shingles.
Daneva Cinderella Tan, JCI Surigao Wensie, Inc. president, said the school was selected to benefit from the project as it needs assistance the most being one of the hardest-hit schools following a 6.5-magnitude earthquake that struck Surigao City and nearby towns four months ago.
Tan said the organization has been firm in its commitment of “developing opportunities that empower young people to create positive change” through the support of education and humanitarian services.
On the other hand, JCI Surigao Inc. president Anthony Menoza reiterated the importance of the yearly conduct of Bags to School to help the children in need.
