A former municipal trial court judge supposedly on President Rodrigo Duterte’s “narcolist” was killed inside his house by still unidentified perpetrators in Del Carmen town, Siargao Islands in Surigao del Norte, shortly after midnight on Friday.

Capt. Nera Perrocho, Del Carmen police chief said that four armed men barged into the house of former Judge Exequil Dagala in Barangay Poblacion, about 12:30 a.m. and fired at him.

Dagala died on the spot. The gunmen immediately fled on board a white van,  Perrocho said.

The police had yet to determine the motive and the identities of the assailants.

Dagala, who presides over the Municipal Circuit Trial Court of Dapa-Socorro in Surigao del Norte, was among the judges mentioned by President Duterte in 2016 as allegedly involved in illegal drugs.

Despite being cleared of involvement in illegal drugs, the Supreme Court voted unanimously to dismiss him from the judiciary for immorality and gross misconduct in 2017

This after, the high court found guilty of siring three children outside marriage and brandishing a rifle over a property dispute with a neighbor. By CLC
