The Caraga Region Police Office (PRO 13) has a new director.

Brig. Gen Joselito Esquivel Jr. was named by Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Oscar Albayalde, as the new regional director in Caraga, PNP Spokesman Brig Gen. Bernard Banac said in a statement Thursday .

Esquivel was former Quezon City Police District (QCPD) chief. He succeeds Brig. Gen. Gilberto Cruz who was designated as acting director for Integrated Police Operations in Northern Luzon.

Banac said the latest round of reshuffling among key officials in the PNP was prompted by the recent retirement of some senior officers.

He also said the reshuffle was a recommendation by the PNP Senior Officers Placement and Promotion Board and Oversight Committee to implement reorganization of senior officers holding key positions in the Directorial and Special Staff, National Support Units, and Police Regional Offices.

The turnover of command was set for Monday, Sept. 16. By CLC
