A drug suspect was shot dead by an anti-narcotics cop in a buy-bust operation in San Francisco, Agusan del Sur on Thursday evening.
Police identified the suspect as Elezer Nuñez, who was allegedly a newly identified drug suspect in his village.
The buy-bust operation was conducted by the San Francisco Municipal Police and Agusan del Sur Office of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) at Purok 4-A, Barangay Karaos around 7:45 p.m. on Thursday.
According to the police report, during a meeting with the poseur-buyer, Nuñez drew out a gun after he sensed that he was transacting with a police officer.
The poseur buyer, Police Officer 2 Arvin Dumaguit, fired back and hit the suspect in the body. Authorities then brought Nuñez to a local hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
The operation was led by Supt. Bonifacio Estrella .
Recovered from the suspect were 3 grams of suspected shabu worth P35,400, assorted drug paraphernalia, and the marked money used in the bust. Police also recovered a homemade pistol and ammunition from the scene. By CLC
