Authorities recorded another coronavirus disease (COVID-19) patient in Dinagat Islands province, bringing the total number of validated cases to nine.
The Dinagat Public Information Office (DPIO), in a bulletin on its Facebook page, cited the report from the Provincial Health Office (PHO), that the new COVID-19 case involved a stranded individual returning to the town of Tubajon.
The LSI was already isolated at the local government’s quarantine facilities.
The province’s health authorities assured residents that the latest COVID-19 patient poses no threat of spreading the dreaded virus in the locality.
“The person is currently exhibiting mild symptoms and is in stable condition. We can still confirm that there is no local transmission of COVID-19 in Dinagat,” the DPIO said.
Dinagat has recorded nine COVID-19 cases since the pandemic broke out. However, five of the patients had recovered.
The province has only four remaining active cases.
Of the total active cases, two are in Loreto town, and one each in the towns of Tubajon and Cagdianao. CLC
