The Department of Health in Caraga on Friday (March 20) announced that the person under investigation (PUI) in Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte tested negative for coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The patient, who was confined at the Caraga Regional Hospital (CRH) in Surigao City, was cleared by the Regional Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM)’s test result, said Dr. Jose Llacuna Jr., director of DOH in Caraga.

“So, this makes Caraga still a COVID-19-free region,” he said.

Classified as CRH’s first patient under investigation (PUI), the 38-year–old Cabadbaranon is scheduled to be discharged today.

As of this time, Llacuna said 12 PUIs are still being monitored in Caraga.

The DOH-13, in a public advisory released 5 pm. Thursday, recorded 3,873 possible virus carriers classified as persons under monitoring (PUM) in the region.

But at least 277 have completed the mandatory 14-day quarantined period and remained healthy.

The remaining 3,596 were still under home quarantine and close observation. CLC
