Lawyer Oliver Bulang is optimistic that the proposed establishment of an international port in Barangay Cabinet, Cabadbaran City will catalyze its growth potential and serve as an impetus to spur massive trade and investment in Agusan del Norte.
Running under the team of mayoralty candidate Judy Amante, the re-electionist city councilor stressed that the proposal is part of Judy’s flagship program, among other infrastructure projects and social welfare programs that she intends to set in motion if elected.
Bulang earlier promised to pass ordinances and resolutions that will make Cabadbaran City investor-friendly.
It must be remembered that no less than President Duterte himself had vowed to support Judy Amante’s plan to establish the said port during his visit in Cabadbaran on the occasion of PDP Laban’s Regional Campaign Rally.
“If pushed through, and I think it really will, since the President has already given his word, the trickle-down effect of the international port will be very huge, impacting not only the communities of Barangay Cabinet, but also the city itself,” Bulang said.
“Dako kaayo ni ug epekto sa atong ekonomiya. Diri na gyud magsugod ang halapad nga kalambuan sa syudad sa Cabadbaran,” the lawyer-councilor added.
Judy Amante is an ally of incumbent governor, Angel Amante-Matba, who is now running for Congress against Erlpe John Amante. During their barangay sorties, Gov. Angel herself assured the Cabadbaranons of the establishment of the said international container port through the support of the president if Judy Amante is elected to office.
