“Kinsa’y mouban nako?”(who will come with me?). On weekends and holidays I dream of escaping up the ‘Cottage on the Hill’ and bask at the awesome landscape of Bukidnon along the Bukidnon-Davao border.
Perched alongside a much known mountain resort called Cicada, COH is right, no, perfect for its simplicity and easy getaway living, giving you good vibes, at least for a day or two or three.
The cottage can accomodate five persons while others in the group (of eight) can pitch tent for a reasonable rate. We can bring food and cook there as well.
The hill itself is its own attraction, fresh and invigorating. A few classy cottages of European-inspired homes colorfully populate the hillside. Good walks up and down the pathways are come-on on early foggy mornings and late afternoons. You cannot afford to be lazy, its just tempting.
“There’s a lot to do here, stretch ( Yoga and other-Oriental exercises, follow winding trails up and down the highway and be intimate with the clear evening sky,” says Sally Joy Bungabong, a government employee.
There’s silence and cool romantic air to fill your night, says a young couple from Davao who stayed overnight.
That being said, majestic pine trees thrive there. The main ascending concrete pathway is ideal for runners and mountain bikers out for a challenge and adventure. Even health and fitness buff will find this a good place to indulge.
COH is owned by the Divinagracia family of Davao City. I befriended Engr. Vicente Divinagracia and daughter Mimi who are both charming and welcoming.
It is very easy to locate the place. It’s on BUDA highway along Katipunan, Arakan Marilog District. Below the hill, the Seagull Mountain Resort serves its popular dropping station.
