Five most wanted persons have been arrested in separate manhunt operations in various parts of Caraga, the Caraga Region police reported on Saturday.
Chief Supt. Gilberto DC Cruz, regional police director, said the suspects — Glendon Muanag, Edgardo Mission, Janine, Edison Singson, and Joerie Padiag— were arrested on Friday
He said the arrests of these wanted persons — charged with offenses ranging from homicide to violence against women and children, were based on warrants issued by local courts.
Muanag, who had arrest warrant for homicide, was arrested in Barangay Bayugan 3, Rosario, Agusan Del Sur while Janine was nabbed for homicide in Barangay Sto. Tomas, Loreto, also in Agusan del Sur.
Meanwhile, Mission and Padiag had arrest warrants for violation of Republic Act 9262 or the Anti-Violence against Women and Children ( VAWC) Act, were arrested in Tubay, Agusan del Norte and in La Paz, Agusan Del Sur, respectively.
Singson was arrested for frustrated homicide in Barangay Robaco, San Luis, Agusandel Sur province.
The arrested suspects were detained in different municipal jails
“These wanted persons are placed in the custody of the local police unit and will be returned to the court of origin”, Cruz said.
Cruz said he ordered all police chiefs in the six cities and five provinces in Caraga to intensify the conduct of “Manhunt Charlie” and arrest fugitives on the “most wanted persons” list in the region. By CLC
