Police arrested two women for drug pushing and seized nearly P40,000 worth of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu” in two separate buy-bust operations in Butuan City.
Mary Beth Sanchez was arrested Wednesday afternoon after selling shabu (crystal meth) to an undercover police officer in Barangay Leon Kilat around 2:45 p.m. Friday, said Butuan City police chief Col. Canilo Fuentes.
Seized from her were P2,360 worth of shabu; cellphone used for drug trade; and marked money.
In another drug sting, Cristita Montoya, 42, was busted in Barangay JP Rizal at 8:30 p.m.
The suspect yielded three sachets of shabu weighing three grams worth P35, 400 in the drug users market.
“In the midst of the on-going merriment of this yuletide season the Butuan City police force shall never go lax in enforcing the law and protecting the community from any harm most especially from the grim effects of illegal drugs,” Fuentes said.
The suspects, all newly identified drug personalities, face anti-drug charges and were being temporarily detained in the city police office holding cell. By CLC
