Caraga’s COVID-19 tally now at 4,826; Agusan Sur tops number of new infections

Caraga on Tuesday registered 72 new infections of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), increasing the sum of region’s cases to 4,826.

Of the newly-reported cases, the Department of Health (DOH) in Caraga said Agusan del Sur topped the list of new infections regionwide. The province has 47 COVID-19 cases.

This was followed by Surigao del Sur with 10 cases; Butuan City with nine cases; Tandag City with five;and Bayugan City with one case.

DOH Caraga also recorded four more deaths due to COVID-19, resulting in a new death toll of 217.

Meanwhile, 4,148 patients have recovered from the disease regionwide. This includes 35 new patients who survived the disease.

The health department also reported 461 cases or 9.6 percent of the total COVID-19 cases regionwide are active. CLC
